Why are the Limits being Prorated?

So you have added a new employee to a classification and see that they aren't getting the full benefit amount associated with that limit. What does this mean?

When you add a new employee to your plan during the plan year, that employee receives their benefits at a prorated amount depending how far you are into the plan year. This prorated amount is only for their first year on the plan. When the new plan year starts, they will receive the full amount associated with the classification they have been placed in.
