Who it's for

Four paths. One partnership.

The partner program works differently depending on where you're coming from. Pick the path that fits you best. We'll show what to emphasize.

"I want to leave my job and work for myself."

Build a business, not a second job.

Every active group client pays you 4% of their claims. For as long as they stay.

  • 1Fully independent contractor. No employment relationship, no boss
  • 2Recurring revenue on every active group client, paid monthly
  • 3Multiple product lines to diversify
  • 4Work from anywhere with the Olympia Benefits Portal
TipMost career switchers focus on group plans first. Each one is 4% recurring.
"I want to scale and build something bigger."

Start solo. Build something bigger.

Build a book of recurring clients. Every group plan you add grows what you earn each month.
What to emphasize
  • 1Recurring 4% on every active group client, paid monthly
  • 2Multiple product lines to grow into
  • 3Personalized landing page to share with every prospect
TipLarger group plans mean more claims, and you earn 4% of every one.
"I want extra income without leaving my current job."

Steady passive income. On your schedule.

Non-exclusive means you keep your day job. Build slowly, earn consistently.
What to emphasize
  • 1Non-exclusive appointment. No conflict with current employer
  • 2Zero minimum hours. Work when you can
  • 3One sale = ongoing commission. No need to sell every month
  • 4Simple online application to get started
TipNo sales quota to get started. One group plan can pay you every month for years.
"I already have clients and sales skills."

Add a revenue stream to your existing book.

Cross-sell HSA to corporate clients. One more stream from people who already trust you.
What to emphasize
  • 1Non-exclusive. Keep servicing all your existing products
  • 2HSA is an easy add-on to any corporate benefits conversation
  • 3Travel and EEI products are natural cross-sells

What does a book of business look like?

Rates are from the partner commission schedule: $260 group plan set-up, $30/plan member enrolment, 4% of claims, $150 per HSA Plus plan, and the Travel schedule. Travel assumes Age 0–54 with the rate tier (≤10 vs 11+ plan members) set by plan members per plan. Year 2+ counts recurring claims only (no one-time fees; insurance commission is paid in the first year only) and assumes a stable client base with no attrition. Actual earnings depend on retention, claim volume, and refund activity.

Frequently asked

The honest answers.

Drawn directly from the Partner Agreement and the FAQ section of the official partner materials. If something you want to know isn't here, ask us directly.

Q01 How am I paid, and how often?
Group plan set-ups are paid weekly (Fridays) after the 10-day buyer's-remorse window clears. Claims experience commission and insurance commissions are paid monthly, by the 15th of each month.
Getting started
Q02 Can I keep my day job?
Yes. Partners are non-exclusive independent contractors appointed in various provinces across Canada, and you can represent other companies simultaneously.
Getting started
Q03 Why didn't I receive my commission?
Two common reasons: (1) the HSA product is in its 10-day remorse hold and hasn't cleared yet; (2) inactive status, for example where sales obligation requirements have not been met, which can pause payment until your account is reactivated.
Commissions
Q04 How do I switch from cheque to direct deposit?
In the Olympia Benefits Portal → Banking Information. Direct deposit (EFT) has no fee. Cheque payments carry a $4.99 + tax processing fee. There are no other payout restrictions.
Commissions
Q05 What if a client wants to switch to me from another partner?
Contact OBI for an 'Agent of Record Change' form, or submit a signed letter of direction from the client. Changes are subject to President approval. New contracting requirements may apply, but you'll be able to keep the client and their recurring commission attached to your Partner ID.
Clients & plans
Q06 What's the maximum annual benefit limit I can set up?
$15,000 per plan member for corporations. HSA Group Online limits above $15,000 require prior approval from the OBI office. HSA Basic and Plus limit increases also require approval and are subject to a 10% increase fee plus applicable taxes. Within a plan, the 10:1 ratio rule applies. The maximum limit for any plan member can't exceed 10× the annual limit of the lowest classification.
Clients & plans
Q07 Can I cancel my partner contract?
Yes. Either party may terminate with written notice at any time, for any reason. No specific notice period is required.
Contract & legal
Q08 Is there a non-compete?
Sales partners have no non-compete.
