We often get asked, "Do we accept claims that were purchased in a different country?" Learn how to submit these claims with this guide.
We do accept foreign currency claims as long as the following criteria are met:
- The item or service must fall within our Eligible Expenses list
- The amount paid has been converted into Canadian dollars prior to submitting the claim
To assist you with converting the expense to Canadian dollars use the following link from the Bank of Canada. https://www.bankofcanada.ca/rates/exchange/currency-converter/
Enter the date of service and you will receive the exact rate for that day. Once you have the converted dollar amount, enter that for your claim submission.
